Beverly Pepper was born in Brooklyn, New York. She divides her time between her studios in New York and Italy. She studied at Pratt Institute and the Art Students League in New York and with Fernand Leger and Andre’ L’Hote in Paris. She was a painter from 1949-1960, then turned to sculpture. She is known for her site-specific and environmental works throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.
